Angry traders kept the market closed on Thursday morning due to no action being taken after a BJP worker was beaten up in Chaumuhan town of Thana Jaint area of Mathura. They sat on a dharna near Ramlila Maidan. On receiving the information, Thana In-charge Jaint Ashwani Kumar reached there and assured action. Only then did the workers agree. Due to this, the market remained closed for more than an hour. On receiving the information, BJP District President Nirbhay Pandey also reached the dharna site. Actually, late in the evening, Pawan Varshney was running a membership campaign with BJP leaders in Chaumuhan market. Then some people came and started beating them. Pawan filed a complaint against the accused at the police station. Late on Wednesday night, the police took three youths into custody in this case. It is alleged that no action was taken even after interrogation. Thana In-charge Jaint said that a case has been registered. Three people are being questioned.
